Better known as the Farmer’s Stag

2024 Pre Seeding BBQ - April 12, 2024

Launched in 2001, the annual Farmers’ Pre-Seeding BBQ has become a tradition within the area’s agricultural community. Each year, tickets are sold for the steak dinner and more than 100 local businesses support the BBQ’s charity auction. Many of those businesses have supported the BBQ throughout its 20-year history. The event has raised over $300,000 to date. 

After a three year absence due to COVID, the Farmers’ Pre-Seeding BBQ returned and was held on April 14. We look forward to hosting the BBQ again in 2024! The proceeds from the BBQ and the Annual Ladies’ Night Out support the Palmerston Fair and donate to these local services:  Palmerston Fire Department, Palmerston Community Centre, Minto Mental Health, Minto After School Program, Palmerston Hospital Foundation, Norwell District Secondary School LEAF Program, Palmerston School Snack Programs, Rural Women’s Shelter, Ambassador Scholarship, and Palmerston Railway Museum.
