It takes a Community

Greetings! I would like to extend a hearty welcome to each of you as we celebrate “It takes a Community,” as our theme for the 2025 Palmerston Fair! This year Palmerston is celebrating 150 years of community! The fair is a wonderful place to bring community together to learn and celebrate all that our community has to offer, providing exhibits, demonstrations and competitions promoting local agriculture. As president, it is an honour to serve with such a wonderful organization.
The Palmerston Agricultural Society provides a range of benefits to our community, including fostering rural community life, supporting the agricultural industry and providing educational, financial and recreational opportunities. Through our fundraising efforts and community participation, we continue to contribute to many organizations within our community each year. This past year we have pledged $50,000 to the Palmerston MRI Campaign.
This year’s fair will kick off on Wednesday, August 20th with the Ambassador Competition including junior and senior divisions. To the youth in our community, please consider participating in these events. Such a wonderful opportunity to develop your leadership skills, acquire new friends and represent your community!
Following the parade on Friday night, once again we will be hosting A Taste of Minto in the Community Centre. Many activities, shows and demonstrations are scheduled throughout the weekend, including a Children’s Village with bouncy castles. The Palmerston Agricultural Society strives to provide a variety of events, exhibits, and competitions so that there is something for everyone in the community. Please reference our fair book link for the many scheduled events and activities. There truly is something for everyone!
I would like to thank the Executive, Fair Directors, and Volunteers for their continued enthusiasm, dedication and support to make our events successful each year. Our team is always looking for new members and new ideas. It does Take a Community to Make a Village! We welcome and encourage you to come out and join us in all we have to offer this year at our Community Fair!
