2026 Ambassador of the Fair Program

The Palmerston Ambassador of the Fair competition is a fantastic opportunity to build leadership, public speaking, and networking skills. Throughout this experience, you’ll have the chance to grow as a young adult and make a meaningful impact within our community. As an added incentive, the Palmerston Agricultural Society will award a $500 bursary to the Sr. Ambassador of the Fair at the end of their term in recognition of their contributions. The Sr.Ambassador will also have the honour of representing the Palmerston Agricultural Society at the CNE Ambassadors of the Fairs competition in August 2027.

Competition Expectations:

• Sr. Ambassador of the Fair participants must be 17-22 years of age prior to August 20th, 2026.
• All Sr. participants must have resided in Canada for the past 2 years.
• Jr Ambassador of the Fair participants must be 8-12 years of age.
• All Participants must submit an application highlighting his/her education, community involvement, interests and accomplishments (applications will be made available in the spring).

Sr. Ambassador of the Fair participants:

• must present a 3-5 minute speech on topic provided by the committee (speeches should reflect our community, the fair and/or agriculture, fair themed)
• create a Bio board
• must submit 3 entries to the fair in a category of their choosing
• participants will engage in a 3-5 minute interview with the judges elaborating on information from their Bioand application.
• participants will be asked to answer an impromptu question during the evening programbased on the fair theme

Jr. Ambassador of the Fair participants:

• must present a one to two-minute speech on a topic provided by the committee (speeches should reflect our community, the fair and/or agriculture, fair themed)
• must create a MeBoard showcasing fun facts about themselves.
• must submit 3 entries to the fair in a category of their choosing
• will engage in a 1-3 minute interview, elaborating on information from their MeBoard and application.
• Jr.participants will be asked to answer an impromptu question during the evening program based on their application answers.

The competition will be held Wednesday, August 19th, 2026 at Doors open at 6:30PM

Competition to begin @ 7:30 pm in the Palmerston Community Centre.

Admission is by donation.
