Needlecrafts – Class L

2023 Class L: Needlecrafts

Rules: Exhibits must be new work made by exhibitor. Articles may be shown for two years only. Judges have been authorized to disqualify old or soiled work. Children’s clothing with drawstrings, ribbons or ties at the head or neck will be disqualified as Health Canada considers them hazardous. In case of no competition in a class, the judge is not obligated to award a first prize. Smaller quilts (minimum perimeter of 260”) can be shown for regular prizes. When a quilt entry is made by one and quilted by another, each name must be on the entry.

Prizes Sections 1-15~ 1st – $10.00; 2nd – $8.00; 3rd – $6.00

Hand Quilting:

  1. Pieced quilt
  2. Hand embroidered quilt
  3. Pieced and appliquéd quilt
  4. Sampler quilt

Machine Quilting:

  1. Pieced quilt
  2. Machine embroidered
  3. A traditional pattern used to create a modern quilt, ex. Log Cabin, Twisted Log Cabin
  4. Sampler quilt
  5. Scrap quilt – could be recycled materials

Quilts No Size Restriction:

  1. Rag quilt
  2. Tied quilt or comforter
  3. Couch throw
  4. Quilt from recycled materials
  5. Crazy patch quilt
  6. Quilt top pieced or appliquéd

Ontario Association of Agriculture Societies Quilt Competition:

  2. Machine Quilted Quilt minimum size of 324” measured on the perimeter. Solely made and quilted by the exhibitor (using long arm or domestic machine). Attach name of pattern.   3. All exhibitors names in sections 31-59 will be entered in a draw for a gift basket from Spinrite Yarns.
